Our Story
Attari Sales Corporation traces its origins to the vibrant city of Udaipur, where a legacy of resilience and entrepreneurship was born. The journey began with three brothers—Akbarali, Mohamadali, and Ismailji—who, after a family dispute, set out to create a new life. The elder brothers, Akbarali and Mohamadali, began as traveling salesmen, selling clothes and household merchandise across towns and villages in Rajasthan. Their determination paid off, allowing them to open a shop in Udaipur, where they were soon joined by their younger brother, Ismailji.
During their travels, the brothers discovered a burgeoning demand for traditional Indian attars among the local nobility. Recognizing this opportunity, they began trading in attars, sourcing exquisite fragrances like Khus, Hina, Gulab, Motia, and Kewda from the famed perfumery town of Kannauj. The success of their perfume trade led them to transition entirely from textiles to attars, marking the beginning of a thriving family business in the world of fragrances.
In pursuit of further growth, the brothers moved to Mumbai, setting up shop in Bhendi Bazaar, which quickly became a hub for their operations. Akbarali, guided by his maternal uncle, delved deeper into the art of rose distillation in Baroda, further enhancing the family’s expertise in creating premium attars.
As the business grew, the next generation stepped in, bringing innovation and expansion. Kadarali, despite his background in law, took the reins from his ailing father, Akbarali, and began experimenting with blending aromatic chemicals and natural oils, establishing a reputation for excellence in the market. Together with his brother Alihussain, he founded Attari Brothers, and the duo became pioneers in exporting fragrances to the Middle East and North Africa during the oil boom of the 1960s.
The family’s entrepreneurial spirit continued to flourish, with different branches forming their own successful companies, each contributing to the rich legacy of Attari Sales Corporation. Today, the company stands strong under the leadership of Khurshid, who, along with his son, has taken the business to new heights. Khurshid, trained in the perfumery capital of Grasse, France, has infused modern techniques with traditional practices, ensuring that Attari Sales Corporation remains a leader in the Indian perfume industry.
With a global presence spanning India, Middle East, and the USA, the Attarwala family continues to honor its heritage while embracing innovation. We are proud to be custodians of a tradition that has been passed down through generations, bringing the timeless art of Indian perfumery to the World.

Khurshid Attarwala is the quiet force behind Attari Sales Corporation—a man of rare discipline, deep integrity, and unmatched dedication to the craft of perfumery. Born into a family steeped in the legacy of traditional Indian attar-making, he represents the third generation of a lineage that has shaped the fragrance landscape of India and beyond.
While many inherit businesses, Khurshid chose to earn his place. After receiving formal training in Grasse, France—the global capital of perfumery—at the renowned Roure Bertrand Dupont, he returned not only with technical mastery but also with a global perspective. He combined this knowledge with traditional Indian methods, bringing precision and innovation into every aspect of fragrance production.
Under his leadership, Attari Sales Corporation expanded its reputation for quality and authenticity, supplying premium perfumes across India and to international markets. Yet, for all his achievements, Khurshid has remained deeply grounded—more artisan than businessman, more teacher than executive.
His approach is quiet but meticulous. He believes in the power of patience, the importance of detail, and the irreplaceable value of doing things the right way. Whether it’s sourcing the finest raw materials or perfecting a blend through dozens of trials, his work ethic sets the standard for all of us who follow in his footsteps.

Andreas Attarwala represents the fifth generation of a family deeply rooted in the art and tradition of Indian perfumery. As the son of Khurshid Attarwala and part of the lineage behind Attari Sales Corporation, Andreas brings a fresh perspective to a time-honored craft—blending legacy with innovation, and tradition with contemporary vision.
Having grown up immersed in the world of attars, Andreas absorbed the nuances of scent-making not just as a skill, but as a language—one that speaks of memory, culture, and emotion. With a deep respect for his family’s heritage, he stepped into the business with a clear intention: to carry the brand forward into the modern world while preserving its soul.
Andreas plays a key role in brand development, new product creation, and the expansion of Attari Sales Corporation’s presence across Indian and international markets. Drawing from both his Indian roots and multicultural upbringing, he brings a global sensibility to the way the brand tells its story—whether through fragrance composition, design, or customer experience.
